The single "Anytime Anyplace But Only You" is #2 on the April 2012 Bluegrass Unlimited national chart and BMP Top 30 Hot Singles chart. In addition, the same titled CD is #6 on the Bluegrass Unlimited national chart.
 
   
Selected to be a part of IBMA's Leadership Bluegrass Class of 2012

Russell has been selected to be a part of IBMA's " Leadership Bluegrass" class" of 2012, March 8th-10th in Nashville, TN. The purpose of the program is to pull together a cross section of people with exhibited or potential leadership qualities into a network of learning and communication.  The selection process for Leadership Bluegrass is competitive, with more applicants than there are positions available.   Among others attending, will be Sharon White of The Whites and Claire Lynch.
 
   
SPBGMA "Bluegrass Songwriter of the Year" nominee

Russell has been nominated for SPBGMA's 2012 "Bluegrass Songwriter of the Year". He joins the likes of Tim Stafford and Tom T. & Dixie Hall, among others. This is the second year in a row he has been nominated in this category.

The single "Anytime Anyplace But Only You" is #6 on the January 2012 Bluegrass Unlimited national chart and #4 on the January 2012 BMP Top 30 Hot Singles chart. It will surely continue to climb in the coming months!

The title cut, "Anytime Anyplace But Only You", debuted on the September 2011
edition of BMP's Top 30 Hot Singles at #2, while the CD came in at #6. Included in the BMP's Hot Spins category were the singles "Anytime Anyplace But Only You", "Bluegrass Time", "Old Moonshiner", "I Need To Know", "It’s My Heart", and "Goin’ Home".
